This is an older image from the first morning breaking ground for our Grüner Veltliner plantings, in 2005.
With old, depleted and compacted soil, it is essential to break up the hard-pan of soil and open 'rip-lines' to enable incorporation of organic matter, lime and fertiliser.

Biodynamics & Cow-horns

Cow horns are the vessel most commonly used to make Biodynamic preparations - such as 500 (a microbial starter culture from fermented manure). A natural by-product of cattle farming, these remain the best choice for '500' preparation to date.
